Belmont Park carries on the tradition of old-time family fun featuring The Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, Beach Blaster, Chaos, Vertical Plunge, Krazy Kars, Tilt-A-Whirl, Liberty Carousel, Crazy Submarine and Thunder Boats. The Mission Beach Amusement Center was popular through the 1930's and 40's and in later years it was renamed, Belmont Park. From all accounts and records, the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster was an extremely popular attraction. . After an extensive, 2 million dollar renovation the Giant Dipper reopened on August 11, 1990. The response by the public was overwhelming. The restored structure, station house and train were beautiful. Local residents who had ridden the roller coaster years earlier brought their spouses and children to see and experience the ride that they had ridden when they were growing up. Now it can be your turn to ride this historic wood roller coaster and feel the salt air in your face, see the sun setting over the pacific and feel your heart skip a beat as you thunder down the first drop with your eyes squeezed firmly shut.
